Candy grew up in Minot, ND and now resides in the rural LaMoure area. Prior to moving to LaMoure she lived in several places including Wyoming and Montana. She graduated from Minot High School and then attended NDSU Bottineau obtaining an Associates of Art in Wildlife Technology. Her family includes husband Kraig, son Kaden, dog Spice, two horses- Cheena and Ginger, and her son's dogs Bear and Gracie. They also have many cows and calves. Candy's favorite animals to work on are dogs and cats!
When asked why she chose to join the veterinary profession Candy said "I have a degree in wildlife technology and used to work with wild elk, ducks, geese, and occasionally an injured hawk or owl so after I married a farmer and was looking for a part-time job, this opportunity came up. I love the people and pets and farmers I get to work with!"
